Popular dash-cam company Nextbase have just launched the DUO, said to be the UK’s first dash-cam which comes with both a camera for the front and rear of your car. While the front records in 720P HD, the rear camera lens comes with a 50m zoom. The screen even playbacks the synchronised footage at the same time. If you do find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to supply footage to an insurance company, you can rest assured the camera will have recorded the whole incident – it comes with g-sensor technology that will recognise an accident and store footage safely for insurance purposes. While you’ll need to invest in a Micro SD card for it, everything else comes with the camera – including the window mount and power cable. It gives a good, clear view and is worth the money.

On the education side, Blipblox was one of the more interesting items on the floor. A synth designed for three to eight-year-old kids, the Blipblox has arrow paths on top connecting all the buttons to show the synth’s signal chain. The idea is to get children interested in synthesis basics early on. But, there’s no iconography on the Blipblox itself to hint at what the buttons do, so it’s hard to say how much kids will really learn as opposed to just mashing buttons. The company told me that if kids want to learn more, they can read the manual that comes with it, but that seems to defeat the product’s purpose.

Who needs solar? While you’re strolling your child through the park the Moxi is turning all its wheel-turning kinetic energy into usable electricity. You can charge your phone, light your path or track your distance.

It’s up to the people to decide what new technologies are going to take 2018 by storm and which ones will ultimately be forgotten.

The first pair of Mechanix Original gloves I had were from 2007. wore out fairly quickly but I kept sewing the holes in the fingers to prolong their useful life. I bought another pair in 2009, and the main differences were in the use of 65% Nylon / 35% Polyurethane all around the fingers. With the older 2007 pair, Mechanix used a more durable material on the sides of the fingers and those lasted 5 years without … full review

A discussion arose at the Plymouth meeting of the Devonshire Association in 1916 when it was suggested that this word should be recorded in the list of local verbal provincialisms. Several members dissented from its inclusion on the ground that it is in common use throughout the country; and a naval officer who was present said that it has for years been a popular expression in the service for a tool or implement, the exact name of which is unknown or has for the moment been forgotten. I have also frequently heard it applied by motor-cycle friends to the collection of fitments to be seen on motor cycles. ‘His handle-bars are smothered in gadgets’ refers to such things as speedometers, mirrors, levers, badges, mascots, &c., attached to the steering handles. The ‘jigger’ or short-rest used in billiards is also often called a ‘gadget’; and the name has been applied by local platelayers to the ‘gauge’ used to test the accuracy of their work. In fact, to borrow from present-day Army slang, ‘gadget’ is applied to ‘any old thing.'[3]

Plus if you take your hands off the controls Tello will just hover until you come back. Naturally, it has an HD camera and can do all sort of acrobatic tricks.

While the UV Sense is designed to be worn on your nail, L’Oréal will also be releasing accessories so that users can wear it in different ways, too.
