Nintendo’s iconic grey-and-purple Super Nintendo gaming machine made a huge comeback in 2017. The SNES Classic comes loaded with 21 retro titles, including Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, and a previously unreleased Star Fox game. Everything from the games themselves to the way the controllers feel in your hands are exactly as you would remember from the 1990s. Catering to players’ nostalgia has seemingly paid off: SNES Classic was the second best-selling video game console during the month of October, according to research firm NPD, and it’s been nearly impossible to find since its September launch.
A big fat WIN of black ink is a great way to show your child that their fridge art has reached the next level of awesome. Acceptance letters mean that much more with a little extra WIN on them. Maybe use it as a highlighter to spruce up studying for that boring history class.
Car gadget is a wonderful tool for drivers, help them drive faster and easier. However, not many car owners have the knowledge of which gadget they should buy. Here are our recommendations for 10 best car gadgets:
Gather up all of your scented candles and oils and throw them in the garbage. Feel better? If not, you may be interested in Moodo’s Wi-Fi-connected, Alexa-supported scent machine that can make your home smell like an ashram spa or beach party.
Oh, but don’t stop at foreheads. Stamp FAIL on that memo you just got from that annoying manager. Car broke down on the way to the most important meeting/interview/date of your life? Stamp FAIL on the hood and that satisfactory “ka-ching” sound of the stamp doing its magic will make everything better.
Sling’s parent company Dish just birthed it a sibling for cord cutters and cord nevers who miss local broadcasts that you can only get via a cable or satellite subscription or antenna. AirTV looks like Roku mated with Fisher Price, but you’ll never lose that remote in the couch.
If you’re still not convinced that the days of buying large, cumbersome consoles to get the best gaming performance are over, look no further than the Xbox One X. Microsoft’s latest console crams six teraflops and native 4K gaming support into a sleek package, making it the choice console for players who want screaming performance for less than the price of a high-end gaming PC.
The two outer channels have a looser grip for cables that you take in and out frequently. The two inner channels have a tighter grip for cables you rarely remove to stay put. CableDrop Multi uses a semi-permanent (3M) adhesive tape to stay put on flat surfaces.
Sure, you can check the time right there at the bottom of your computer monitor, but that’s so one-dimensional. This LED clock by FiBiSonic also tells you the date, the humidity and the temperature — Celsius or Fahrenheit, your choice. It includes three different alarms in case you’re worried about losing track of time, and you can set them with the voice control mode. The clock has three brightness settings, so you can choose the easiest on your eyes, as well as two face modes. Use the one that gives you the information you most need to know. You can pick and choose what to show. The console is made of durable, attractive wood.
So enter the Plug Mug. A mug, with a hole in it, which renders it completely useless to mug thieves. Just keep the plug safely stowed away from harm (on your key ring or in a vault) and you will find that no-one is interested in stealing your mug anymore.
The e-Palette is Toyota’s new, modular transportation platform that looks inspired by both shipping container and toaster. It comes in three sizes ranging from 4 meters (about 13 feet) to approximately 7 meters (around 23 feet) and is designed to be flexible and reconfigurable to accommodate the needs of Toyota’s partners on the project, which include Amazon, Pizza Hut, Uber and others.
As a little aside, there were a couple companies that were trying to tackle the combination of music and VR. Aerodrums, a company that allows you to drum without a drum set, has just introduced a VR component. Aerodrums works with traditional drum sticks that have reflective balls at the tip and reflective panels that are attached to your feet. A camera then captures any movements made, allowing you to drum without a physical kit (and, when fed into headphones, without making any noise!). The new upgrade takes this same format but now allows for more immersive drumming using a VR headset. Some drumming pros I spoke to said that although they might not use the VR component themselves, they could see it being incredibly useful for beginners, and as a tool for delivering drum lessons. This was the overall vibe I got from most VR experiences — perhaps fun for beginners, but in terms of a viable alternative for pros, not quite there yet (or maybe just not needed).
If reinstalling Windows apps doesn’t work, creating a new user account usually will. If you’re currently using a Microsoft account, your settings will also transfer to the new account once you upgrade it from the default local account. You’ll need to transfer your local files from one account to the other in all cases, though. Your installed software won’t be affected.
